York House: Adding a page to a menu that has no pages.

York House is a residential building at 11 York Street, Parnell, developed by Precinct with INT.RE (Kajima Group) as development financier and advisor. Its Kirby CMS site, built by another studio, is one long page navigated by anchors. The sales team wanted News in that menu and video in their news articles.

Direct answer

News added to a one-page Kirby site, in keeping with the way its menu works.

A homepage News section with its own anchor in the main navigation, a carousel of recent articles with a link to the full News page, a check that news articles take video, and the reason the crane removal video would not play: the field wanted a file link, not an embed code.

Challenge

Every menu item is a scroll, not a page.

Architecture, Interiors, Location and Team are sections of the homepage, and the menu scrolls between them. News was a separate page that the menu did not reach, so construction updates and press coverage sat where buyers would not find them.

Keep the pattern

Every menu item scrolls the homepage to a section. A News item that jumped to a separate page would have been the only one behaving differently, so News became a section too.

Let the sales team choose

The homepage shows a rotating selection of recent articles with a link to the full News page. As new articles come in, which ones feature is picked in the CMS, with no developer involved.

Answer the question before building a workaround

The sales team could only see image options in news articles. A look at the article editor showed video is supported: set the media type to Video and give it a file link.
News

A section, so the menu keeps one behaviour.

News now has its own anchor on the homepage, with a carousel of recent articles and a View all link to the full page. Construction updates, the OneRoof story on the penthouse sale and the World Architecture Festival 2026 shortlist all reach buyers from the menu they already use.

Video

The field wanted a file, not a player.

The crane removal marked the move into the internal fit-out, and the sales team wanted the footage on the News page. The Vimeo embed did not show in the article, so a still image stood in until the cause was clear.

What the page had

Vimeo's embed code: a div, an iframe and a script, which this field does not display.

What the field wants

A direct link ending in .mp4, the same progressive file links the site's other videos use.

How to get one

The video sits unlisted in the client's own Vimeo account, so the sales team got step-by-step instructions to copy its file link, plus a note that on some Vimeo plans such links expire and are worth checking.

Location

The updated flyover in place.

The location video in the homepage’s Views section circles the building and labels the neighbourhood, from Parnell Road to the CBD and Commercial Bay. It was swapped for the updated version the sales team sent.

Outcome

News where buyers already look.

Small changes, each made the way the site already works. The same client’s other development got a longer round: see The Domain Collection.

#news

a homepage section with its own anchor

News sits in the main navigation next to Architecture and Location, and scrolls to its section the same way they do. The one-page pattern stays intact.

5

articles in the homepage carousel

Construction updates, press coverage and the World Architecture Festival 2026 shortlist. Which ones feature is a choice in the CMS; the full archive is one link away.

.mp4

the one format the video field takes

The field plays a direct video file rather than a player embed. With the right link, the crane removal plays at the top of its article.

The studio that built the site was not involved, and none was needed: everything here was done in the CMS the sales team already uses.

Case study FAQ

Questions about the York House support work.

In 2026, 99 Francs supported the live Kirby CMS site of York House, a residential building at 11 York Street in Parnell, Auckland, for INT.RE (Kajima Group), the project's development financier and advisor. The work added News to the site's one-page anchor navigation as a homepage section with a carousel of recent articles, confirmed that news articles support video, and resolved why the crane removal video would not play.
Make it a section rather than a link out. On York House every menu item scrolls the homepage to a section, so News got a homepage section with its own anchor, showing a selection of recent articles and a link through to the full News page. The menu keeps behaving one way, and the archive is still one click away.
Because the field on this site expects a direct link to an .mp4 file, not a player. Vimeo's embed code is HTML with an iframe and a script; the field cannot render it. A progressive file link from the video's settings in Vimeo plays, though on some Vimeo plans those links can expire.

Yes. York House and The Domain Collection, the same client’s second site, were both built on Kirby by another studio, and both were supported without a handover. Our website support is quoted in hours against a scope you approve, and invoiced once it is done.
