Do you have to pay a web agency upfront?

Short answer

Not with 99 Francs. There is no deposit and no upfront payment: each project is split into phases with a fixed scope and price, and you pay at the end of a phase, only when you are satisfied with the working result. If revisions still don't get you there, you owe nothing for that phase.

How phase payment works

  • Before a phase starts, we agree exactly what it delivers and what it costs. No hourly meters and no open-ended billing.
  • We build the phase at our risk, then you review the working result.
  • Feedback and revisions are part of the phase, not a change order.
  • You pay when you are satisfied. If you still are not after revisions, you owe nothing for that phase.

Can you stop halfway?

Yes. Either side can stop between phases without penalties, and you keep everything produced so far — designs, code and content.

Smaller jobs work the same way

For New Zealand clients, a first design concept (homepage or landing page, desktop and mobile) is a flat NZ$700, paid only if you accept it, and website support is NZ$45 an hour, paid after the work is done.

Why we work this way

A deposit protects the agency; phase payment keeps our incentive on a result you want to pay for. We describe the model in full on how we work and in how we build MVPs with no upfront payment.
