Should you move a WordPress site to Astro?
With 99 Francs, a migration to Astro costs $1,500–5,000: a small 5–8 page site from $1,500, content-heavy sites to about $5,000. Move when a developer maintains the site and it is mostly content; keep WordPress when editors or a plugin depend on it.
Updated
Move to Astro when
- A developer maintains the site, and plugin, theme and security updates are a standing chore.
- Most pages are content that rarely needs a plugin: services, case studies, a blog.
- You want a faster site and a host with no PHP or database to look after.
- You want the code in a repository you own, with content in Markdown or MDX.
Keep WordPress when
- An editorial team publishes daily through the WordPress admin.
- A booking, listings, CRM or shop plugin carries the business and has no equivalent.
- The site works and nobody needs it to change. Do not replatform for its own sake.
What a migration covers
A content audit, a URL map with 301 redirects, metadata and canonicals, sitemap and robots, analytics and forms, and QA against the old site. We used the same method on A1 Sure Services, where all 155 posts kept their URLs and the final crawl found no broken links. See should you audit your content before migrating.
What it costs and how you pay
A small 5–8 page site starts from $1,500 and content-heavy sites run to about $5,000. CMS integration or a redesign is quoted separately. There is no deposit: a straightforward migration is paid once, when it is done and working. Details are on Astro development and migration.
