Astro or Next.js for a marketing website?

Choose Astro when

• The site is mostly content: marketing pages, a blog, a portfolio or documentation.
• You want pages that load as plain HTML, with JavaScript only for a form, a calculator or a search box.
• You want to own the code and host it anywhere, on a static host or your own nginx server.
• The site needs several languages on separate URLs.

Kyrylo Savenkov's personal site is an example: we designed it and built the Astro foundation, and it runs in English and Ukrainian with a light and a dark theme.

Choose Next.js when

• The site behaves like an application: accounts, dashboards, real-time screens or heavy client-side state.
• It needs server logic, a database or a CMS wired into the pages, such as Payload.
• Marketing pages and the product live in one codebase and share components.

What it costs

An Astro landing page starts from $1,500 and a multi-page marketing website from $3,000; a custom React or Next.js frontend starts from $5,000. Prices are fixed, with no deposit: a landing page or marketing site is paid once, when it is done. See Astro development and migration.

How we decide

We ask what the site has to do and who will edit it. If the answer is publish pages and keep them fast, it is Astro. If the answer includes logging in, live data or product states, it is Next.js. If a team must edit pages visually without a developer, it may be Webflow instead of either.
