Kombo: a rooftop restaurant and bar in Trondheim, redesigned and built in Webflow.

Kombo av Klempe og Dons pairs food from chef Håvard Klempe with cocktails from bartender Jørgen Dons, on a roof above Trondheim. As the contractor for Berger Marketing, we finished the redesign and built the whole site in Webflow, with GSAP animation — on time, in 2025.

Direct answer

A restaurant redesign finished and built in Webflow, on time, for Berger Marketing.

Berger Marketing had started the redesign of Kombo av Klempe og Dons. We finished the design and built all eight pages in Webflow — menus, bar, restaurant, gift cards, news and group bookings — with GSAP text reveals, a moving photo strip and image sliders. Every page leads to a table booking.

Challenge

Finish a redesign someone else started, and ship it on the date.

Kombo is two places in one: a restaurant and a bar, each with its own menu and its own booking. The site had to carry both, feel like the room — dark wood, warm light, the city through the windows — and still get a guest to a table in a couple of taps.

A redesign already under way

Berger Marketing had started the redesign. We came in to finish the design work that was left and carry it into a working site.

A date it had to make

The new site had to be live on time. We finished the design and the Webflow build together, so the deadline held.

Their agency, their client

Berger Marketing ran the relationship with Kombo and is credited on the site. We worked behind them as the design and development contractor.

Bar and restaurant

Two halves of one place, side by side.

On the home page the bar and the restaurant mirror each other: photo and burgundy panel, then swapped. Each panel has its own short story, its own slider and its own way into the menu.

Kombo home page Restaurant block — a burgundy panel with the restaurant's story and a Restaurantmeny link beside a plated dish
Kombo Meny page — the Meny heading over a row of dish photos
Kombo menu with Bar and Restaurant tabs — Smaksmeny, Sett sammen din egen Kombo and Mellomstore dishes with prices
The menu

The menu is a page, not a PDF.

Bar and Restaurant sit as two tabs on one page, set in the site’s own type with prices aligned — readable on a phone at the table, and searchable, which a PDF menu never is.

The whole site

Eight pages, every one of them ours to finish and build.

Not a home page and a template for the rest: each page was designed to the end and built in Webflow, with Book bord always one tap away.

01

Home

The Kombo hero, the Bar and Restaurant blocks, a moving photo strip, the gift card, and two booking blocks — one for the restaurant, one for the bar.

02

Meny

One menu page with Bar and Restaurant tabs: the tasting menus, small and large dishes, desserts, cocktails, wine and beer.

03

Bar

Its own page for the bar: signature cocktails and classics, and the Barmeny.

04

Restaurant

Seasonal dishes from the wood-fired oven and grill, and the way into the restaurant menu.

05

Om oss

The story of chef Håvard Klempe and bartender Jørgen Dons, with their portraits.

06

Gavekort

Gift cards for the restaurant, the bar or both, bought online.

07

Aktuelt

News and events — the terrace, MagnumMandag, tastings, guest bartenders — as cards the team publishes themselves.

08

Gruppebooking og kurs

Group bookings, private dining, the chambre and courses for larger parties.

Animation

Motion that sets the mood, then gets out of the way.

Headlines that build as you read

Large statements on the home page reveal word by word as they scroll into view, with GSAP SplitText and ScrollTrigger.

A photo strip that keeps moving

Food, fire and drinks run past in a continuous strip between the menus and the gift card.

Sliders in the Bar and Restaurant blocks

Each block on the home page carries its own image slider, so the bar and the kitchen each get more than one photo.

Two booking blocks — Reserver bord i restauranten and Reserver bord i baren, each with its own booking widget: Book Bord for one to six guests, Send forespørsel for larger groups
Gavekort på Kombo restaurant — gift cards fanned above the heading and a Kjøp gavekort her button
Booking and gift cards

A table in the restaurant, a seat at the bar — or both.

Because the bar and the restaurant take bookings separately, the site gives each its own block with its own booking widget — book online for up to six, send a request for a larger group — and a fixed Book bord button follows the guest down every page. Gift cards for either, or both, are bought online.

Story and news

The people behind the room, and what is on this week.

Outcome

The whole redesign, finished and live on time.

Kombo’s site is live at komborestaurant.no, credited to Berger Marketing, as agency work should be.

8

pages, the whole site

Home, Meny, Bar, Restaurant, Om oss, Gavekort, Aktuelt and Gruppebooking og kurs — all designed to the end and built in Webflow.

On time

the redesign made its date

We finished the remaining design and the build so the new site went live when it had to.

Case study FAQ

Questions about the Kombo website.

99 Francs finished the redesign of the Kombo av Klempe og Dons website and built the whole site in Webflow, with GSAP animation, in 2025. Kombo is a rooftop restaurant and bar in Trondheim, Norway. We worked as the design and development contractor for Berger Marketing, the Norwegian agency that ran the project with the client.
Partly. Berger Marketing started the redesign; we finished the design work that was left and then built the site. The live site credits Berger Marketing for design and development, because we worked behind them as their contractor.

Headlines on the home page reveal word by word as they scroll into view, built with GSAP SplitText and ScrollTrigger. There is also a continuously moving photo strip and an image slider in each of the Bar and Restaurant blocks — the kind of motion we add as part of Webflow development.

Yes. Y av Klempe og Dons, the owners' other restaurant, was also delivered with Berger Marketing.

Yes. Kombo and Y av Klempe og Dons are both in Trondheim. We design and build restaurant websites with menus, booking, gift cards and events that the team can keep current in Webflow — see web development for Norwegian businesses for how we work and what it costs.

Yes. On Kombo we worked behind Berger Marketing, who ran the client relationship and are credited on the site. We work the same way for agencies in New Zealand and elsewhere.
