How much does a custom online store cost?

What the starting price covers

• A custom-designed store, not a template, from NZ$8,500.

• No GST on top: we are a studio based overseas, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

Choosing the platform

The platform changes the running cost more than the build cost, because it decides what you pay every month afterwards. Our rule of thumb: Shopify when selling products is the job, Webflow when your team needs to edit content easily. We recommend the platform after understanding your content and your team, not before.

What sits outside the build price

The platform subscription is billed by the platform, not by us. Shopify, for example, bills in US dollars, with transaction charges and paid apps on top. Build quotes are driven by page count, templates, CMS depth and integrations, so the starting figure moves with the size of the catalogue and the systems the store has to connect to.

Starting smaller

Phase 1 can be a design concept on its own: a homepage or landing page for desktop and mobile, one round of revisions, ready in 5 working days. It is a flat NZ$700, and you pay only if you like it. Then you decide whether we build the store.

How you pay

Every project is split into phases with a fixed scope and price, agreed before each phase starts. There is no deposit: you pay at the end of a phase, once you have seen it working, and either side can stop between phases.
