The best Purrweb alternatives depend on why Purrweb doesn't fit. Under US$25,000, look at 99 Francs (MVPs from US$5,000, no deposit). For no advance payment, Upsilon. For guarantees in writing, Designli. For no-code you can edit yourself, LowCode Agency. For healthcare, MindSea.
Purrweb is a sound choice for a mobile MVP headed for the App Store, and its MVP page is more open about price and process than most. Founders look elsewhere for a handful of reasons: a budget below its US$25,000 floor, a web-first product, a fixed price before any paid discovery, payment terms they can see up front, or a team in a particular time zone. This guide starts with what Purrweb actually offers, then sorts eight alternatives by those reasons.
Disclosure: 99 Francs (that's us) is one of the eight alternatives. Every fact about the other agencies comes from their own websites, checked on 5 November 2026. Prices appear only where the agency publishes them, and no agency paid to be included or for its position.
What Purrweb offers, as of November 2026
Purrweb has been building apps since 2014 and says it has released 550+ projects with a 100-person team; its registered office is in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE. Its MVP stack is React Native for iOS and Android from one codebase, React.js for web and Electron.js for desktop, with native Swift or Kotlin recommended only for heavy real-time, AR or hardware work. Its FAQ says most founders who come to it with an MVP have no technical background.
- Price: US$25,000–40,000 in the page header and calculator (about two to three months with a team of about four), US$30,000–80,000 in the comparison table and FAQ, "fixed after a paid discovery sprint". The calculator adds US$3,000 for authentication, US$7,000 for chat, US$8,000 for payments and US$15,000 for AI.
- Timeline: three to four months from signed contract to App Store submission: about two weeks of discovery, four to six weeks of UI design, six to ten weeks of development and QA, one to two weeks for submission.
- Prototype first: US$5,000–15,000 in three to six weeks.
- Ownership: the client owns the codebase from the first commit, with a documented handover.
- Payment terms: not stated on the MVP page, so ask how discovery and the build are invoiced.

1. 99 Francs — a smaller budget, paid per phase (that's us)
99 Francs is a senior design and development studio based in Paphos, Cyprus, working with founders worldwide since 2017. One small team of one to three senior specialists scopes, designs and builds the product, so nothing is lost in a handoff. MVPs start from US$5,000 and a cross-platform mobile MVP from US$8,000, in fixed-price phases agreed before each one starts. There is no deposit: you pay at the end of a phase once you have seen it working, either side can stop between phases, and you keep everything produced so far. A tightly scoped first release takes two to three weeks.
For a founder comparing us with Purrweb, the closest proof is CryptoCrush: a founder in Cape Town came with only an idea for a game, and we did the game design, native iOS and Android versions to prove the mechanics on real phones, then a Telegram Mini App with a server, leaderboard and admin panel, in about three weeks of active development. Our own Android app SimpleV reached Google Play about two weeks after active work began. Need only the design first? A design-only MVP of 8–12 screens costs US$4,500–9,000 on our product design page.
Best for: a first version under US$25,000, from design to store, without paying before you have seen it work. A weaker fit for a product that needs a team of ten engineers for a year. Details on MVP development and mobile app development.
2. Designli — guarantees written into the terms
Designli, in Greenville, South Carolina, builds web apps, native or cross-platform mobile apps and progressive web apps for founders without a technical background. Its terms are the most concrete on this list: "If V1 isn't in real users' hands by Day 30, your next month is on us"; the first two weeks are fully refundable; you can cancel on 30 days' notice at any point; and everything it builds is yours. It publishes cost bands: US$10,000–50,000 for a basic MVP with one core feature, US$50,000–150,000 for moderate products and US$150,000–400,000+ for complex AI, integration or marketplace builds.
Best for: a first-time founder who wants speed and refunds in writing rather than a fixed estimate after discovery.
3. Upsilon — fixed scope, no advance payment
Upsilon lists addresses in Sheridan, Wyoming and Tallinn, Estonia. Its pricing page is the opposite of a deposit model: "We don't require advance payments", invoices go out every two sprints with 15 days to pay, and there is a money-back guarantee within the first sprint. Published prices: two weeks of discovery at US$6,000, prototyping at US$10,000 in under a month, and MVPs from US$20,000, typically US$20,000–65,000, deployed to production within three months. It also discounts its work in exchange for equity on partnerships of six months or more, and you own the source code from day one.
Best for: founders who want the budget fixed before the build and no money out before work starts.
4. Uptech — the closest match to Purrweb's model
Uptech lists offices in Los Angeles, Tallinn, Kyiv and Gdańsk and says it has built 150+ MVPs. Like Purrweb it builds a lot of mobile, but it picks the stack per product: Flutter, React Native or native iOS and Android. It says an MVP generally costs US$35,000–50,000 and takes four to five months, with engineers at US$40–60 an hour. Projects with a well-defined scope can be fixed price; evolving ones run on time and materials. The MVP page does not address code ownership, so put it in the contract.
Best for: founders who like Purrweb's kind of team but want Flutter or native as an option.
5. SpdLoad — native mobile from Kharkiv and Charlotte
SpdLoad lists offices in Kharkiv, Ukraine and Charlotte, North Carolina, and names Swift and Kotlin for mobile. Its FAQ is written for non-technical founders ("You don't need to be a developer to create an MVP!") and puts an MVP at US$25,000–100,000 depending on features, built in anything from a few weeks to a few months. The page mentions flexible engagement models but names no billing structure and does not address code ownership.
Best for: a mobile MVP that needs native code from the start rather than React Native.
6. LowCode Agency — a no-code mobile MVP you can edit
LowCode Agency, in Miami, has delivered 450+ digital products since 2019 on Bubble, FlutterFlow, Glide and custom code; it recommends FlutterFlow for mobile-first apps. It names its ideal client as "Domain expertise without a technical co-founder" and publishes tiers: simple MVPs at US$15,000–30,000 in 6–10 weeks, mid-complexity at US$30,000–60,000 in 8–14 weeks and complex at US$60,000–120,000 in 12–18 weeks. You own everything it builds, and it asks for 3–5 hours a week of founder time.
Best for: founders who want to change screens and content themselves after launch. The trade-off is the platform: ask how you would move off it if the product outgrows it.
7. Goji Labs — native iOS and Android, a larger US team
Goji Labs is headquartered in Los Angeles. Unlike Purrweb's React Native default, it builds native iOS (Swift and SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) apps, with cross-platform frameworks "when appropriate". Most engagements start at US$25,000 on a blended-rate, time-and-materials model; the smallest is a two-to-four-week discovery, audit or strategy sprint, which can be fixed fee. Full product builds take from several weeks to several months, and the client owns all code, designs and intellectual property.
Best for: funded founders who want native apps and a US team with room to grow well past the MVP.
8. MindSea — digital health apps
MindSea has built apps since 2007 from Halifax, Toronto and Boston, for healthcare, wellness and clinician-led businesses: iOS, Android, React Native and wearables, with HIPAA-ready development. It starts with a fixed two-week assessment for US$5,000, credited toward the first month if you build with it; there is no retainer and no minimum commitment. It does not publish a price list, but puts typical healthcare builds at US$100,000–300,000 and says they often take four to six months once security review, integration testing and app store approval are added.
Best for: health products, where compliance and clinical integrations matter more than speed or price.

What to ask before you switch
- Is discovery paid, and what do you keep? Purrweb fixes its price after a paid discovery sprint; Upsilon sells discovery for US$6,000. Make sure the scope, flows and estimate are yours to take to another agency.
- React Native, Flutter or native? Cross-platform is cheaper for most MVPs; native earns its cost for heavy real-time, AR or hardware work, which Purrweb itself says.
- When do you pay? Deposit, every two sprints, or at the end of each phase. Ask for the payment schedule in writing; our answer on building an MVP at a fixed price compares fixed price with time and materials.
- Who owns the code and the store accounts? Keep the repository, cloud, domain and App Store and Google Play accounts in your company's name from day one.
- Who does the work? Ask for the names and seniority of the people on your project, not the agency's headcount.
